田んぼ道 A rice field road

子供のころ、私の遊び場は田んぼ道でした。

私の町は、大昔、湖だったところを水をひき、田んぼに開拓した町です。

町のほとんどが田んぼです。

その間を通る田んぼ道で、小さな花や四つ葉のクローバーを見つけたり、小さな動物をさがして遊んでいました。

今でもよくこの田んぼ道を散歩します。

そして、花や四つ葉のクローバーを見つけ、隠れている蛙や、ばったを探す、、、

子供のころと同じですね。

時間がゆっくり流れ、とてもリフレッシュできます。

みなさんの周りに舗装されていない道はありますか。

コンクリートより涼しく感じますよね。

日本はまだまだ暑いですが、田んぼは秋の色になりました。

緑色から黄金色に変わり、稲刈りの季節です。

田（た）んぼ道（みち）

子供（こども）のころ、私（わたし）の遊（あそ）び場（ば）は田（た）んぼ道（みち）でした。

私（わたし）の町（まち）は、大昔（おおむかし）、湖（みずうみ）だったところを水（みず）をひき、田（た）んぼに開拓（かいたく）した町（まち）です。

日本（にほん）はまだまだ暑（あつ）いですが、田（た）んぼは秋（あき）の色（いろ）になりました。

緑色（みどりいろ）から黄金色（こがねいろ）に変（か）わり、稲刈（いねか）りの季節（きせつ）です。

★English translation

When I was a child, my playground was the road running between the rice fields (tanbo michi).

A long time ago, a place that was once a lake was a drained and in its place, a rice field was cultivated ; this is my town.

The whole town is almost completely all rice fields now.

The road that runs between these rice fields is the 「tanbo michi」 where I would play at finding small flowers, four leaf clovers and small animals.

I still often take walks along this road.

And I find flowers, four leaf clovers and look for hidden frogs and grasshoppers...

Just like when I was a child.

Time passes slowly here and I can feel rejuvenated.

Do you have any roads that haven't been paved around you ?

They feel cooler than concrete ones, don't they ?

Its still hot here in Japan, but the rice fields have changed to their autumn colors.

They have changed from green to gold-colored; its the reaping season now.

梅 Plum blossoms

春には色々な花が咲きますが、みなさんはどんな花が好きですか？

どの花もきれいですが、梅の花もきれいですよ。

冬の寒さに耐えて、草木のなかで一番早く咲きます。

日本各地に梅の名所がたくさんありますから、一足早い春を感じるのもいいですね。

私の家の庭には、梅の木が二本あります。

ピンクの花と白い花が咲き、ほんのりいい匂いがします。

だいたい２週間くらいで散ってしまいますが、その後に梅の実がたくさん生ります。

私の母は、その梅の実で、梅酒を作ったり、梅干しを作ったりします。

梅酒も梅干しもとてもおいしく、体にいいのでおすすめです。

でも、おいしいからといって飲みすぎ食べすぎには、気をつけてくださいね。

我が家の梅も少しづつ咲き始めています。

満開になるのが楽しみです。

もちろん、梅酒も梅干しも楽しみです。

日本各地（にほんかくち）に梅（うめ）の名所（めいしょ）がたくさんありますから、一足（ひとあし）早（はや）い春（はる）を感（かん）じるのもいいですね。

私（わたし）の家（いえ）の庭（にわ）には、梅（うめ）の木（き）が二本（にほん）あります。

★English translation

There are various flowers that bloom in the spring, - which flower do you like ?

All the flowers are beautiful, but plum blossoms (or Japanese apricot blossoms) are really beautiful.

Of all plants, this blossom bears the cold of winter and is the first to bloom.

There are a number of famous plum blossom sites everywhere in Japan, so its nice that you can get to feel the sensation of spring slightly early anywhere.

We have two plum trees in our house's garden .

When the pink and white blossoms bloom, they give off a light pleasant fragrance.

The blossoms fall off the trees after about 2 weeks, but after that they bear lots of plum fruits.

My mother uses those plum fruits to make plum sake and makes some dried plums.

Plum sake and dried plums are delicious and also good for your health, I recommend them.

But because they taste so good, be careful not to eat and drink too much of them.

The plum trees in my house are beginning to bloom little by little.

I'm really looking forward for them to be in full bloom.

And of course I really look forward the plum sake and dried plums too.
