花言葉 language of flowers

いろいろなきれいな花が楽しめる季節になりましたね。

先日近くの山に登ったのですが、「椿」や「牡丹」、「藤」が咲いているのを見つけました。　

そこで、今日は『花言葉』を紹介したいと思います。

椿・・・「理想の愛」「謙遜」

牡丹・・・「王者の風格」「富貴」「恥じらい」「高貴」「壮麗」

藤・・・「歓迎」「恋に酔う」「陶酔」

だそうです。

もうすぐ私の住んでいるところでは、「ツツジ」も咲き始めます。

この花は私の母が好きな花で、私の実家にもたくさん咲いていました。

　　ツツジ・・・「自制心」「節制」

う～ん、あまり母には関係のない言葉のようですが…。

私が好きな花は「かすみ草」です。

この花言葉は、

　　かすみ草・・・「清い心」「切なる喜び」「無邪気」「親切」

う～ん、これも私とは縁遠い言葉のような気がします。

It is the season to enjoy a variety of flowers. The other day I went hiking up a nearby mountain and found some camellias, peonies, and wisterias in bloom.

So it led me to think that I'd like to introduce some floriography from the language of flowers today. These are the flowers and their meanings within floriography apparently.

Flower : Camellia = Meaning : ideal love or modesty

Flower : Peony = Meaning : dignity, wealth, bashfulness, or     noble grandeur

Flower : Wisteria = Meaning : welcome , madly in love , intoxication

Soon the azalea in my neighborhood are starting to bloom. These flowers are one of my mother's favorites, so there are a lot of them plenty of them flowering in my parents' house. The floriography is as follows :-

Flower : Azalea = Meaning : self-restraint , moderation

Hmm...these are words that seem a little unrelated to my mother's character.

My favorite flower is Baby's Breath (or Gyp) and the floriography meaning is below.

Flower : Baby's Breath = Meaning : pure-hearted , earnest pleasure , innocence , kindness

Hmm...these the words also seem unrelated to me as well
