★Kanji with hiragana
Yesterday, there was an annual Nagashi Soumen (washed down noodles) event held at a nearby shrine, so I went there with my daughter.
Bamboo poles are cut into half and joined together like a playground slide , and in these Soumen (thin white noodles) is washed down and we eat it, so it is called “Nagashi Soumen”. Since the Soumen is being washed down the poles with water it looks refreshingly cool. It's really fun, like a game, because you have to scoop up the noodles as they come splashing down with chopsticks. Eating , while listening to the excited buzz of children's voices screaming,“I got some !” “I didn't get any!” is also part of the fun.
Do you have some interesting ways to eat food in your country like this Nagashi Soumen way ? Please let me know if you do. You can add comments in Japanese or English below.
